Missing Folders

I had some imported mail long ago that I accidentally
deleted and forgot about. Today, while searching for
another message, I clicked the All Folders radio button
and messages from these deleted folders appear in the
search results, but these folders do not exist in my
folder window.

I currently have 2550 messages in my In and Sent Mail
folders, but the search looks through 7837 messages
(which sounds about right for the deleted folders).

I have search my drive, looked in the Documents:MUD
folder, Preferences, everywhere and cannot find anything.
I would really like to get at those messages.

when I export my mail (using the OEexporter.app
AppleScript) none of these messages or folders are ever
exported for backup.

Any ideas?

Solved my own problem. By searching for a non-breaking
character (such as a space) in all fields the messages
appear in the search results. By selecting and moving to
a new folder, the messages are accessible.
