I'm getting replies and alerts saying that my mac is sending out messages to
random addresses (example below). I presume it's a virus in outlook express.
Anyone know what I can do?

I'm using Outlook 5.03 on mac OS 9.

MyDoom is a PC worm (as are the vast majority).  Your Mac is not infected
with it, so don't worry.  One of the common tricks that virus writers
utilise is to make it look like messages are being sent from a certain
e-mail address when in fact they are actually originating from an infection
on a different machine.

If anyone tries to give you grief, point them here...

Let me quote the crucial part...

"Systems Not Affected:     DOS, Linux, Macintosh, OS/2, UNIX, Windows 3.x"

For what it's worth, more PC virii are written every day than have ever
existed for the Mac!  End of story :-P

Not many people are still using OE 5.0.3 - if you get a chance, you might
want to upgrade to OE 5.0.6, although this is not really essential if
everything else is working correctly.  You can download OE 5.0.6 here...
