Can't connect to one mail server in Classic

Hi,

I have to temporarily use my PowerBook G4 15" for work. I thought I
could just copy my identity folder across and run Outlook Express under
Classic, but I am having a problem. When Outlook Express tries to
retrieve my mail it returns with the error "A connection failure has
occurred", with error number -23016.

I can ping the address in Terminal. I can access the messages from
Entourge v.X. I need to use Outlook Express. I have to return to Mac OS
9 later.

Does any know what error -23016 is?

Error -23016 just comes up as "a connection failure has occurred" (not very
helpful).  My normal attempt at resolution would be to reboot and recreate
the mail account, then give it another try.

Can you poll the mailbox in question through "online access"?  See below for
info...
