I was having trouble sending e-mails. It wouldn't work most of the time.
I was instructed to reconfigure my Outlook Express e-mail from Earthlink
support. "Drag and drop preferences to the trash"
I emptied trash thereby loosing my e-mail addresses, saved items, projects,
etc. folders.
I tried unerase from Norton Utilities. Unsuccessfully.
Would like to know if there is any alternative to getting this information
back. I have a Mac OS 8.6.
Thanks.

What exactly did you trash?  The only way that you could lose all of that
information is if the Identities folder (or specifically the Messages and
Database files within it) has been deleted/corrupted.
