I'm getting endless email from Microsoft for virus protection.  Doesn't
apply to my Mac.  How can I stop it?

Went to: http://zap.to/webcams in your message.  I'm lost -- what do they
have to do with Spam, and, is there a way to stop the nuisance?

Now, what, if anything, can I do to stop it?  Thanks.

The problem most likely started when you posted to this newsgroup using your
real email address. I initially made the same mistake and have been getting
Swen spam for a couple weeks now.

There is no immediate solution. I'm hoping when the post with my email
address drops off the newsgroup, so will the junk mail.

Until then:

1) Set up an alternate identity or account for posting to this (or any
newsgroup). Your alternate identity should have no email address or some
sort of dummy address.

Under TOOLS >> ACCOUNTS you need to select the account you post from and
edit the email address in your Personal Information. Leave it blank, create
a null address (nowhere@nowhere.com) whatever you want.

NOTE: if you email from that address, since anyone you email to wouldn't be
able to just hit reply without sending to that dummy address.

2) Either Crank up the Junk Mail filter to flag these (its catch all of them
on my Mac) and/or under TOOL --> RULES set up some custom filters using
keywords from the subject and from headers of the Swen spam to route the
messages to separate folders.

Best of luck. My most salient piece of advice is get the filters dialed in
so they get the junk out of your main inbox and then start ignoring the
problem. I got 50 or 60 over the weekend and the filters tossed em all into
a junk folder I set up. No worries.

Thanks for the tips.  I have set up a Pre-Trash folder and rules for junk
mail so the stuff goes to that folder which lets me check to be sure I don't
throw out anything I want.  Works fine.
