I believe it's only the messages that come from various sites, i.e. NY
Times, Microsoft, etc.  Messages from my personal correspondents show up
properly in RED.  Any clues?

Do you know if you have a Rule set up to change the colour?  Check Tools >
Rules to see if there are any set up, and if so, go through them and make
sure none are set to change the colour of incoming messages.

I have NO rules under Tools.

Edit -> Preferences -> Display -> 'Show messages using these colors' -> Make
your adjustments
