Too Many Recipients Error on Mailing List

Hello! I am trying to help someone else who has Outlook
Express 4.5 for Mac. He has been sending out an email
newsletter for months using a mailing list. However, this
month is the first time his list has more than 1000 names
on it--at 1200 now. When he tried to send out the
newsletter yesterday, he received an error: "Too Many
Recipients." He says there are no other error codes
displayed and it is not an email message that he can
forward to me. His ISP corporate mail server does not have
any limits for outgoing messages to be blocked as spam. I
suspect this is an Outlook Express limitation, but cannot
find any documentation. Does anyone think that 1024 might
be a special size limitation for the number of addresses
for a list? I suggested that he split the list in half and
resend, but he says that he does not know how to do that.
Can anyone help us out? Many thanks in advance! Darla

There may well be an internal limit set by OE 4.5 - I can't confirm that for
certain as I've never tried to spam people before(!)

Your colleague could just make a new address book group and shift half of
the recipients from the old group into the new group (simple darg and drop).
