I had a error in my OE and could not launch it, getting an error saying
'error while launching, end of file reached' - I found that a solution would
be to rebuild OE, I was told that if I backed up the Data files from the
Documents folder of Microsoft's User Data - that if I did lose it, I could
import it - WELL, now that I have use of OE, I tried Importing the "old
data" and "old messages" files and when I use the Import form the file menu,
OE doesn't 'see' the files even though they are there! Anyone know what I
should do!?!?!? PLEASE - I lost very VALUABLE data! AND ALL MY CONTACTS even
though I BACKED THEM UP! HELP~ THX!

The File > Import method doesn't work for importing messages that were
originated in OE 5.x - it's only designed to import messages from old
versions of OE 4.x.

For OE to see the messages again, the "old" Messages and Database files
within your Identity need to be renamed back to Messages and Database - the
problem that causes is that you may once again be unable to launch OE once
you have done that - a bit of a vicious circle really.

If your data has corrupted (causing the original "end of file" error) you
may not be able to retrieve it.
