I am writing on my wife's behalf...she uses mindspring as
her ISP. We downloaded Outlook Express for MAC version 5 on
her MAC G3. I spoke with the Mindspring people and
configured the PPP and account info as per their
instructions. we can log on.

Right after downloading Outlook Express on Sept 15, my wife
received two messages welcoming her to outlook express. But
no subsequent messages have been received although she has
400 + emails in her mindspring account waiting to be read.

What do we need to do to read her email messages?

Those 400+ messages have, I assume, already been downloaded and read in a
previous e-mail application?  If so, you wouldn't be downloading them again,
rather you would need to import the messages from that other e-mail
application.

Which e-mail application were you using before?  You may wish to check out
the File > Import option in OE 5 to try bringing your old messages back,
though it really does depend on what you were using before the upgrade.
