After using Tech Tool Pro to repair a hard drive I received
the message "could not open that feature, the end of file
was reached" when wishing to open address book and
messages. So I rebuilt the databases and now have no
messages and only 326 email addresses out of 426. where has
everything gone and what does this message mean pleaseeeeeeeee.
My wife would be most grateful and I may not go grey over
night if anyone can advise.
I did duplicate the Main Identity before I rebuilt the
database.
Many thanks   Steve   UK

I presume you've tried the complex rebuild process as well (which is to
hold down Alt when launching OE, click "no" then "yes") ?

If that doesn't work, your data is pretty much consigned to the trash
heap.  If you had duplicated the Main Identity before using TechTool,
then you would have been OK.
