Outlook Express can be used while booted in OS X, but only through the
Classic environment - that is to say, it is not an OS X native application.
MS Entourage (part of the Office v.X suite) is an excellent e-mail client,
but unlike Outlook Express, it's not freeware.
You may wish to use OE in the OS X Classic environment (a bit cumbersome
IMO) or stick to the built-in Mail.app program, which is quite a bit better
now than when it was first released.

RICKY,
YOU SEEM TO BE THE GURU ON THIS TOPIC. JUST INSTALLED OS X. I USE
ROAD RUNNER SERVICE FROM TIME WARNER AS MY ISP. WHEN I OPENED UP MY
OE FILE AFTER INSTALLATION OF OS X, IT SEEMS THAT ALL OF MY OLD MAIL
AND ADDRESSES DID NOT IMPORT TO THE OE. I SEARCHED THE HARDRIVE AND
SAW IN THE DOCUMENTS FILE:
MICROSOFT USER DATA: IDENTITIES: MAIN IDENTITY
IN THIS SUB FILE THERE APPEARED TO BE ALL OF MY MAIL (MESSAGES FILE)
AND ADDRESSBOOK (DATABASE). BUT WHEN I WENT TO OE TO IMPORT THIS DATA
TO THE CURRENT OE, NO FILES SHOWED READABLE TO IMPORT.
NEITHER APPLE OR MSFT WILL ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS SO YOU MIGHT BE MY
LAST HOPE!
HOW CAN I IMPORT THIS DATA OR FIND A WAY TO ALLOW MY OE TO REVERT BACK
TO THE PREVIOUS COPY SO I CAN ACCESS OLD EMAIL AND ADDRESSES?
THANKS SO MUCH.

Renee,
You don't need to perform the import procedure, and it would not work
anyway because OE 5 is not capable of importing mail from itself.
To resolve the problem, you should just need to move/copy your
Identities folder from the above pathway into this location...
Mac HD:Users:[your username]:Documents:Microsoft User Data:
Once you have done this, relaunch OE (obviously it will just load in the
Classic environment) and then your mail and address book data should
automatically reappear.

Ricky
