OE 6 cannot open messages

2 days ago my Outlook Express started not opening messages to read. When I
double click a message or any message in any folder it acts like its going to
open but there is just a vacant place where the message should be. It's a
square you can see through.....like a picture frame without a picture.
Nothing new was added. No recent updates, nothing different. No known
crashes. I get no error or time outs. My son is a computer guru and he cannot
find any answers for this problem. Please answer soon..........I know I'm
getting mail but I cannot read it. I have Windows XP with plenty of RAM and
memory.
