I HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM IN REGARD TO EMAIL. UPON STARTING THE
COMPUTER I AM ABLE TO CHECK THE MAIL. AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME OF SEARCHING THE
WEB I WILL ATTEMPT TO CHECK EMAIL AND I WILL THEN RECEIVE THE ERROR MSG
INDICATING THE CONNECTION TO THE SERVER HAS FAILED. THE SAME PROTOCOL POP3
AND PORT 110 AND OTHER INFO. THE QUICK FIX IS TO RESTART THE COMPUTER. BUT
THIS IS TIRESOME AND SHOULDN'T BE. I SPOKE W/ SEVERAL EARTLINK TECH WHO TOLD
ME EARTHLINK IS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE POP3 SERVER. TODAY EARTHLINK TOLD
ME TO CHECK WITH THIS DISCUSSION GROUP. BY THE WAY THEY TOLD ME THAT THE
OUTGOING  PORT SETTING SHOULD BE 587 NOT 25
