There must be a message rule that is causing me to have one of my
friends in my address book when they send me mail it goes directly into
my deleted items folder as unread. How and where do I check into this
to change it to go into my inbox. Thanks

Take a look at Tools > Rules.  If you can't find anything amiss, and you
have no specific rules set up, you could try to delete the Rules file, which
is located here...

You could try dragging it back to the inbox, then trying each rule, in turn,
until you find the rule that moves it.
Message menu, or ctrl click to access the list of Rules.
