Outlook Express "end of file" error

When launching Outlook Express 5.0.6 with a designated account "A"
"Identity" or changing to Identity "A" from Identity "B" I get an error
message that says:

"an error occurred while launching.
the end of file was reached"

and Outlook Express quits.

I am unable to access "identity" or "account" "A" with its down-loaded
messages and Address Book.
