HELP! Disk is full error message

I am on a mac using 9.1 OS. I recently received an error message can't
retrieve blah, blah, disk is full. I have plenty of disk space
available. Deleted most messages including deleting messages in deleted
folder. All email accont servers have plenty of space, too. Any
suggestions? I hate having to to to three different sites to retrieve
my emails off of the servers.

Try compacting the database...
