I had two versions of OE 4.0 and then added 5.02. One version of 4.0 quit
working and gave me a type 2 error about certificate expiring. The other
version of 4.0 still opened fine but there is no archives (old mail,
contacts, etc.) in it.
Why does the one version of 4.0 open and the other which I had been using
exclusively not work? I'm using the 5.02 version fine but want to retrieve
old mail from 4.0 and can't get it to copy over when going into 5.02 and
using the utilities available.
I've searched many places for answers and tried setting my computer clock to
synchronize things up as I saw in one place for fixing this problem - no
luck..
Any help would be appreciated.
When I look into actual folders there is nothing there but I suppose it's in
a code or something that isn't readily avaialble for general viewing.
This all seemed to happen rather suddenly, overnight and the only thing I
can correlate with it is installing OS 9.1 but even that don't make sense
because it worked fine for several days after and then started this error 2
thing.

The three versions of OE you have installed will all be looking for their
mail data in different places. If the data content in one of those places
is corrupt, the corresponding version of OE may not launch, hence the issue
you have found.
I've had great difficulties importing from OE 4.0 into OE 5.0.x in the past.
A workaround is to install OE 4.5 and then import into OE 5.0.6 from there.
