Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

My wife and I both bought MacBooks (Intel). I bought Office:Mac (three copy version). Within the first year, we both had hard drive failures. Software was reinstalled. Now only one of us can operate Office programs at a time. Apparently,it has thought it was installed four times rather than two. How do I correct this and use the 3rd copy on my son's Mac?

The Student and Teacher version comes with three *licenses*, not 3
installations. Unlike  Windows Office, which requires Activation, you
can install Mac Office as many times as you want, but you can only use
each license on one machine at a time on the same local network.

You apparently used the same license (CD key) on both MacBooks. You can
change the key used, and have all three Macs running Office, using the
techniques here:

I'd recommend changing all three, and keeping track of which CD key was
used on which machine, to prevent conflicts in the future if you ever
have to reinstall Office.
