I'm wirelessly networking my girlfriend's PC and my Mac. The PC can access
the Mac, but the Mac can't access the PC because I can't work out what the
"sharename" is to access the server. I need to put it in the
"smb://IPaddress/sharename" format and I can't find out what it is, or if it
was one of the names I used to connect the PC to the Mac.
Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved!

Hi Ewan!
You have the connection string correct. What is the name of the share
you have created? You'll find this by right-clicking the shared folder
on the Windows machine and selecting the Sharing option. (The share name
doesn't necessarily have to be the same as the folder name but to keep
things simple it should be the same.)
By default, Windows machines have some hidden shares created
automatically. Try "smb://IPaddress/C$" for one.
To make connecting easy, be sure that your Mac and your Windows machine
each have a user account and password in common.
Hope this helps! bill
