HI I am using MAC OSX 10.4.9 and Messenger:Mac 6.0.2. When using my Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless G Router 802.11g 54mbps 2.4GHz wireless *product no F5D7632-4* When I try to login I get: "Sign in to Microsoft Messenger failed because the service is not available or you may not be connected to the Internet" I am connected to the internet and all my other software works. Messenger also works if I connect to the internet using my old ADSL modem. I have a Apple Mac Pro 2GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon computer. It has Boot Camp installed with XP Pro on separate drives. When I boot up using Windows XP, Messenger works. I have configured my firewalls and checked SOCKS proxy. Here is a netsat /all with my combination router/modem unplugged and airport ON (I am unable to log in with it unplugged) and one when my combination router/modem is plugged in and airport OFF further below: Could you please see if I am not connect through an essential port? i tried to create a TCP dump and it came out encrypted. I use it for gmail, but it allows you to basically use the program to log into any instant messaging services. Pretty nice.
