default file opening

I had my harddrive reformated. i have one problem. When i open folders with
data files in them the default goes to search its the first on the list and
its blackout ,open is below I have to click on open to open my files  before
reformating the default was open How do i get that default back

I have no idea what you're saying. Can you please use some punctuation
and possibly some capitalization? You'll most likely get better response
if folks can understand your problem.

I suggest you also search Apple's forums <http://discussions.apple.com>
for an answer and if you can't find one then post your question there as
well.
