My "Previous Systems" folder is 3.35 GB large. Can this folder be safely
trashed? Portions thereof?
Thanks,
Robert Connolly

Hi Robert -
The folder is created during an Archive & Install of the OS in order to
allow you to recover/preserve as much as possible from your previous system
settings, documents, etc. Once you have gone through the content &
determined that it is no longer of use to you, yes, you can delete it if you
wish. You may want to burn some of the content to a CD for re reference or
use StufIt to create a compressed archive to hold on to, but it isn't
required or used by the OS for anything once the reinstallation is complete.
BTW - I can understand why you posted this question to this group, but it it
really is more of an Apple/OS X issue, not really much to do with
Microsoft... not to mention that this group really doesn't see much traffic
:) No criticism intended, but if you aren't already aware of it the Apple
Discussions forum is probably a better place to post questions that pertain
to the Mac OS & hardware. You'll usually get a much more prompt response on
such issues. If it pertains to MS products, though, these groups are the
place to be :)

I'd just like to add that there's also the comp.sys.mac.* newsgroups.
