refreshing newsgroups in Mozilla?

Greetings. I am really enjoying Mozilla, and hope I can contribute some
more thought-provoking questions than this, but I cannot seem to get
Mozilla to update newsgroup messages. I have tried the Get Msg options
from both the file menu and the toolbar, to no avail. Yet I know that
the server I am accessing is posting more messages because I can view
them through a direct telnet window to my news server.
any suggestions?
