In several applications such as iPhoto, iTunes, FireFox, we have options
to email some selection (for example a photo, or a tune, or a link);
The problem is that I find no way to configure Thunderbird as my prefered
mail program.
Thunderbird does execute properly, but for example does not show up in
iPhoto as a possible mail program to select (other mail programs, such as
Mail, AOLmail, Eudora) do show up, but not thunderbird.

Thanks
Please let me know if this is the proper forum for this message

This can either be set in Mail.app's preferences.

But I have done this thru RCDefaultApp a very cool utility ...

Thank you for the answer.
The Mail app is -is not- thunderbird, so it does not know about it.
I will try the RCDetaultApp utility.
I will post my results.

Sorry to inform you that using the PCDefaultApp utility did not fix the
problem; and neither does the Mail program have a place to tell it that
thunderbird is the default.
Therfore the iPhoto program only lists Eudora, AOLMail, and Mail, but not
thunderbird
However, now I can from either firefox, or IE ask them to send a link by
mail and thunderbird starts properly.
So what is remaining is the iPhoto problem
Thanks

The Mail Application is where you tell it to use Thunderbird!

In 10.3 you use the Apple Mail Preferences to set the default email program
In 10.2 or earlier you use Internet Control Panel
