Firefox Block images

I use the 'block images from' option in firefox to stop adverts from a
particular url appearing on the page by clicking and holding until the
drop down menu appears.

I love firefox's ability to zap adverts in the way, the problem is the
menu does not always appear. Presumably these adverts have a way of
disabling it to stop you blocking them.

I tied control click but that brings up a different menu.

Is there a way to make the menu come back or stop adverts from disabling it?.

Thanks

type "about:config" without quotes in the URL bar, and scroll down to
the following preference:

dom.event.contextmenu.enabled

If this is set to True, right-click (control-click) this line/Toggle and
set it to False. Restart Firefox (I'm pretty sure this is the pref!).

It was set to false already but thanks for the suggestion.

I think they are different types of advert. Ones that are blockable show
the link in the status bar when the pointer is on them but the other
ones don't.

For example this page:

http://www.expressindia.com/cricket/fulliestory.php?content_id=69972

It works for the ads on the right but not the ones at the top.

When I right click those it says 'about macromedia flash player' but
'settings...' is greyed out.

Can I disable this some other way?

Not only do they flicker and distract you but they also make the fan
come on, doubly annoying.
