Helped a friend, who uses Macintosh OSX, to install Firefox 1.0. Then we
tried to install themes and extensions, it seemed to download them nicely
and showed a dialogue box where we could accept installation. But then the
themes did not turn up in the list of available themes, nor did the
extensions get installed.
I use Firefox on a PC, and haven't had this problem. Any suggestions?

First, decide what you are talking about, themes OR extensions <g>
Tools-->Themes
has a + button you can press to install a theme you have downloaded
Tools-->Extensions does not
Extensions should be installed when you download them
Where are you getting the extensions and themes? Are they compatible
with your version of Firefox?

Both. Downloaded themes do not show up in the list of available themes
under Tools, Themes, and extensions do not show up in Tools, Extensions.

From the Firefox web site that opens when you click on the blue link "Get
more themes" and "Get more extensions" (or something similar, I use a
Swedish version). The last version of Firefox is used, and the extensions
and themes are compatible with this version. I simply downloaded the same
extensions and themes as I, with no problem, use on my PC.
Thanks,
Johan
