Why is it that even though I have java installed, it never seems to work
- as in it is not detected - when I land on page. IE and Safari work
fine, but no Moz based browser will work. :(

Are you shure you got the latest Java Release? I'm running OS X 10.2.6 and Java
1.4.1_x and it works just fine with Mozilla 1.4/Firebird 0.6/Camino 0.7.

same here Jonathan, the troubles started after downloading the latest
Apple Java update two days ago.

I also downloaded the Java 1.4.1Update1 yesterday and my Moz.1.4, firebird0.6
and Camino still run all Java Applets. (running on Mac OS 10.2.6)
I guess you already checked about:plugins if the plugin is there at all.
(It should be in "/Library/Internet Plugins/", named "Java Applet.plugin" and
"Java Applet Plugin Enabler")
On my machine, about:plugins claims that I got Java 1.3.1, but I got
1.4.1Update1. So much for that. (I guess its the plugin that is still 1.3.1)
So far for now . . . Martin

I have the same problem, but I noticed if I go to
preferences...Adavanced and turn off enable java. Hit OK to exit
preferences. Then turn it back on I have no issues until I restart
Mozilla or Netscape. This seemed to creep up after the 7.1 release.
7.0.2 did not give me this problem.
