Display problems with some images

Hi all,

I use Mozilla 1.8a1 on Mac OS X 10.3.4. Not sure when it was introduced
(perhaps version 1.6 or so), but I have a strange display problem with
some images since a few releases. It seems to happen to GIFs with
transparency only, but not to all of them. These images seem to be split
into multiple layers that appear shifted against each other, so the
entire image is distorted.

Creating a fresh profile doesn't help, but re-sizing the window has some
influence on this problem: sizing the window smaller makes these
images be displayed correctly, sizing it larger will distort them again.

Posting in a German Mac newsgroup I found one other user having the same
problem, so it seems to be rather rare and system dependent. I use an
iBook G3 600 if this matters.

Any idea what I can do? Looking forward to have this problem solved in
future releases!

Best regards,

Thomas.

There is a newish feature in the Preferences that allows rescaling of
images to fit the screen. It might be worth checking this out, and
trying it on and off.

thanks a lot, Andy, but it doesn't help with this problem.

Best regards,

Thomas.

Oh well, can't help more then I'm afraid as I don't see this issue
myself.

There are others I see though, the SpamCop login screen is sometimes
aligned on the left edge, and the graphics boxes at Version Tracker are
often misaligned and overlapping. However, it does all work OK.

Thomas.

Hmmm, it might suggest that the old YMMV rule applies then! :-)

The problem has already been solved in the latest nightly build, that
was really fast!

Thomas.

Blimey, that's not bad. Although it's quite likely it's been reported a
few times before anyway.
