I go so pissed off at Mircosoft not replying to my emails or support
messages that I have taken matters into my own hands..

They are refusing to help.. or dragging their feet there is clearly a
bug in the software or our profiles.. the only answer is to make a new
profile to use msn new email or use crapy http://webmessenger.msn.com/

This is web messenger and works just fine...

Sorry microsoft has more important things that apple users...

I sympathise, but it seems Apple have more important things than Apple
users these days too. Five or six complaint emails about things like
build quality and Pages, and nothing back.

Seems like Apple are turning in to Microsoft, sheesh, and i've only
been a customer for twelve years...

Sorry I can't help and this is just another whinge!

While Microsoft would like you to use their products not all problems
are simple to diagnose and fix. Many people may report a problem with
the exact same symptom "I can't log in..." but may all have something
different causing the problem. Some people may have computer, router or
ISP problems that are out of Microsoft's control and others may have
problems with their accounts. Troubleshooting problems based on people's
descriptions is often like shooting in the dark.

You've found that the web enabled version of Messenger works for you and
hopefully you'll soon be able to use Mac Messenger again. But keep in
mind what you're paying to be able to use the software and service.

An alternative to the software would be to use another Messenger client
such as Fire from <http://fire.sourceforge.net/> or Adium from
<http://www.adiumx.com/>.

To All who are seeing contacts offline, we are listening. I have been
investigating this issue for the last few weeks, but have also been
extremely sick and it is taking some time. Understandably, this is an issue
for those that are seeing the problem, as it is interfering with you all
using our product. The number of customers who are reporting this overall is
relatively small. We are working with the server teams to try and isolate
this issue as well.

Please send me an email to harrissrebecca@hotmail.com if you haven't already
done so with your userid so I can add that to our list of users having this
issue. I may need to contact you further to get some logs as well.

Thanks,
Rebecca

I'll forward that in the French newsgroup,

If you are listening why is it when you email hotmail support they you
have to send five email before they realise there is a problem and then
they want a list of everything under the sun.. And there is a hint of
they dont know whats wrong and how to sort it out.

FYI- I am in the product group. I am an SDET who works on the actual
Microsoft Messenger for Mac product, rather than in PSS, or hotmail support.

I have the hotmail address for working with customers directly. If you are
referring to me asking questions, it is to try and get to the bottom of
this. If you are referring to someone else, I can't answer that, as I am not
sure who that would be.

I am trying to help out as best I can, but my primary job is to work on the
product, not PSS. I do a lot of this in my own spare time. This is an open
forum for anyone who wants to be involved.

Thanks,
Rebecca

MS tech support has nothing to do with newsgroups.....
Newsgroups are peer-support based (users helping out other users). We
are fortunate enough in this newsgroup that someone from the MacBU is
actually participating and trying to find solutions to the problems
reported here. That's not so common.... I've seen some MacBU folks
posting from time to time in other groups (Entourage, Word), but no one
as often as Rebecca so far,
I'm not even sure Rebecca *has* to post here or monitor the newsgroup at
all to start with. MS Tech Support is a different group altogether from
the MacBU development people and they don't monitor newsgroups at all.
