MSN Messenger upgrade - Can't view hotmail contacts as online

Ever since the upgrade, only the yahoo contacts will show online when
they are online.  But none of my hotmail contacts are shown as online,
when in fact, they are online.
All of my contacts have accepted me to be on their list on the previous
version, now that I had to upgrade there is no communication with them.

Thank you!

Hi,

Can you please quit Messenger and delete the following file from your
preference folder?

Look in the ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft

Delete the Microsoft Messenger User Cache.plist and the Microsoft Messenger
User Cache if one exists as well.

Then try to sign-in again.

Thanks,
Rebecca

Thank you for the very fast responce!  But I have already tried that
and it still doesn't show my contacts are online.   When I upgraded the
new version it told me that there is an application, do I want to
continue?  And I selected continue.  Do you think that has anything to
do with the mac?

Thank you,
Melissa
