I have tried 6 times to install the Messenger 6.0 for Mac.

The first time I tried it appeared to install.  It did a conversion of
my history.
But then it would not start.

I have deleted and re-installed many times now.

I also tried deleting the following per suggesions I found in a
newsgroup:

~/User/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/
---com.microsoft.Messenger.plist
---com.microsoft.MessengerDaemon.plist

When I try to launch MSN Messenger the window pops up and it says
signing in.  I have even left it for one hour but nothing seems to
work.  The previous version worked OK.  And I can sign in using MSN
Messenger on a separate PC running XP.

Hi,

It sounds like Messenger 6 is installed, as you only have to drag and drop
the application to your machine. It sounds like it is launched and you are
stuck in the signing in phase. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

Was Messenger 6 and any other versions on that machine when you deleted the
preferences? If not, the old preferences will remain and be duplicated back.

Are you using the same account when signing in on the PC? Were you
previously on the Windows Live Beta?

Thanks,
Rebecca

Are you using a passport account or a hotmail account?

Thanks,
Rebecca
