A friend of mine cannot change his display name.
He has a fsmail.net address - is this the reason?
His current display name is: his email address followed by 'email address
not verified'
Can anyone please help?
Many thanks - CharlieL

well.. most likely its because the address is not verified?...
or if it is then re-verify it then...
think that should be the reason

Hi Charlie
I'm afraid your friend will not be able to remove this or change his
Messenger name until he verifies his E-Mail address with the Passport Service.
When your friend signed up to messenger and registered his fsmail.net e-mail
address he would have been sent an E-Mail from "Microsoft Customer Support"
asking him to click a link to verify the address which would in turn activate
the account.
Could you ask your friend to check his mailbox for fsmail.net to see if he
still has this e-mail and get him to click that link. If he hasn't recieve an
e-mail from "Microsoft Customer Support" or it has been deleted then your
friend will have to go to the link below and request another activation
e-mail is sent to him.
the link is:
http://support.msn.com/eform.aspx?productKey=passport&page=support_home_options_
form_byemail&ct=eformts
ask him to fill out that form and he should hear back from them soon.
Rob!
