I have just installed Messenger 5.1 onto my Mac and am running LCS2005.  On
logging in successfully with Messenger I can see who is online but on trying
to send them a message I get " The following message could not be
delivered:"

Is this a server problem or client, and can anyone help me with how to fix
it?

Thanks

Alan

Did this scenario work for you on 5.0?

Try the following:

Log out of your Messenger account(s)
Choose Messenger -> Preferences -> Accounts
Click on the Personal tab and select "Manually configure settings" (make
sure that "I use a proxy server" is unchecked)
Click "OK" and log back into your Messenger account(s)

See if this works for you.

I am having the same problem. The area you refer to in "Accounts" is
greyed out.

Try signing out of Messenger (Network > Sign Out) before opening
Preferences.
