This problem started yesterday (Nov 23).

I use an IBook G4 running OSX 10.3.9 and connect through an Airport
Express wireless router.

Messenger 5 started telling me that my password or sign-in were
incorrect, which is not the case as I have had this hotmail/messenger
account for over 5 years.  I have tried the solutions posed earlier in
this group about firewalls and proxy settings.  I have uninstalled and
reinstalled Messenger 5 as well as downloading 4 again but keep getting
the same problem.

I have had a friend attempt to connect to my account from another
location and she was successful.

I have not installed any new software etc. in ages.  What is happening?
And to those Mac users out there is there any other software I can use
to access Messenger on my Mac.  I know there is for PCs.

Many thanks,

Jeff

I have been experiencing the same problem.  Mine started a few days ago
as well.
I was using Messenger 4.  When I tried to sign in, it told me it
couldn't because either the service was down or I wasn't connected to
the Internet.  I know both of these are not true as I could sign into
Messenger on my PC and I can use my Internet browser on my Mac (G4
power book).  It seems that Messenger cannot see that I'm connected for
some reason.
