Hello,
I have been running Messenger 4.0.1 under Mac OS X 10.4.1 Tiger for a
while now. Everything seemed to be working fine until one day the
preferences got trashed and new ones were created. From there, I
couldn't access the network anymore (it won't even check the name and
user, just give me an error that the network or service are
unavailable).
>From the same machine, every other network service works just fine
(iChat, Mail, Yahoo Messenger, Safari, etc.).
>From a different machine with Mac OS X 10.4.1 and Messenger 4.0.1 on
the same network, everything works just fine.
I deleted every trace of Messenger from the system (plist, the program,
whathaveyou), reinstalled a fresh Messenger and went through the setup
process. It still doesn't work.
I created a new user in Mac OS X 10.4.1, tried to login from there, no
luck, still doesn't work.
I created a new passport and tried to login with it. Doesn't work
either (as I said, it doesn't even get to the check user/pass phase, as
I have used bogus one and it doesn't return any wrong u/p error - just
the same no network, no service error).
I have ran out of the possible troubleshooting methods. There's nothing
on the web about this (at least, after a few pages down in google, it
doesn't show up).
Any ideas? Maybe my network connection for the MSN Messenger ports got
hosed?
Thanks in advance!

MSN Messenger 4.01 don't have any support with Tiger, You must wait
until June to MSN Messenger 5.
Try Adium X with MSN Messenger customization. it's better !
