Is it possible that both machines have masked IP addresses? To check, on
the machine, go to <http://www.myip.com/>. Then, launch System Preferences,
and then click Network Preferences. Does the IP address there match the one
stated by <http://www.myip.com/>? If not, the IP is masked. A file
transfer between two users with masked IP addresses will not work. I know
of no workaround.
