Hi,

I have a PowerMac G5 with OSX 10.4.1 with a cable internet connection via a
router on my network.

I I try to send/receive files via a PC on the exact same network, it works.
But It does not work on my MAC. What can I do?

Is it possible that both machines have masked IP addresses?  To check, on
the machine, go to <http://www.myip.com/>.  Then, launch System Preferences,
and then click Network Preferences.  Does the IP address there match the one
stated by <http://www.myip.com/>?  If not, the IP is masked.  A file
transfer between two users with masked IP addresses will not work.  I know
of no workaround.

If this feature is important to you, I suggest you send feedback to the
Messenger team.  Your request here should be logged.
