Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: intel

I'm trying to log in to my corporate account on Messenger 7. I diligently copied the network settings from Messenger 6.0.3, which is working fine. They don't work on Messenger 7 – "Not connected to the network" etc. Same for the Personal account.

Disabled firewall, dumped preferences, not trying to run both 6 and 7 at the same time.

What gives?

Microsoft Messenger for Mac 7 only works with Office Communications Server 2007.

Hi,

Please try the following:
1.)  Go into ~\System\Library\CoreServices.
2.)  Launch the application Kerberos (not the Kerberos Agent).
3.)  If there are an tickets listed in the dialog box that opens, have them
select the tickets, and click "destroy".  (Check FIRST whether you are
actually using any of them).
4.)  Quit the Kerberos app, and for good measure, reboot.

If that doesn't fix it (or if the you don't have old Kerberos tickets
present),  delete the com.microsoft.Messenger.plist file, and re-run the
First Time Wizard.

Thanks,
Rebecca

Hi Eric,

Are you using OCS 2007 or LCS? Messenger 7 only supports OCS 2007 and the
Windows Live for personal service.

Messenger 6.0.3 and Messenger 7 use the same sign-in for the personal
account. Are you seeing a particular error in that case?

Thanks,
Rebecca

How can we find out what version of the server is running? I doubt the company has Messenger 7 server, but how do I find out?

I have 6.0.3 working just fine...

Hi Darryl,

You would have to ask your IT Department what version they are running.

Thanks,
Rebecca
