I have Macbook Pro Core 2Duo with 10.4.11, and Messenger 6.0.3.
Somehow, whenever I log in, spam ads are sent to my friends
automatically.  I was wondering how I can stop/prevent this annoying
issue.  I am actually running the messenger from disk image...

Hi,

first of all, you should not be running the application from the disk
image. Drag the application into your Applications folder, then run it
form there to prevent potential problems. As for your problem: this does
not seem like a Messenger issue to me. Does this also happen when you
log in through Messenger on another computer, maybe even on a Windows
PC? Can you use Web Messenger <http://webmessenger.msn.com> to see if
the same behaviour also exhibits itself in that specific situation?

My guess is that your Passport ID has been hijacked somehow, and that
you may need to contact MSN to track down the source of the problem.
Anyway, see if the solutions I have mentioned above allow you to
reproduce the problem, then post back.
