Everytime i try to sign in to messenger it says i need to update. So i
downloaded the newest version, but the messenger.bin when it opens
with stuffit expander it says the file too large and needs to be
compressed. Can anyone help??

Which version are you downloading? Are you still on a classic Mac OS (Mac OS
9.x.x or earlier)? The latest version for Messenger is 6.0.3; it is Mac OS
X-only and can be downloaded here:

Messenger 6.0.3 comes as a disk image, which means that you will not need
Stuffit Expander to open it.
