I have downloaded the Messenger for MacOsX. The thing is that I tried
it with my gmail adress to see if it worked. It did, so now I want to
log-in with my primary e-mail adress, but Messenger won´t let me.
Everytime I start it up it awakes with my G-mail status, even if I
have Logged out, and even if I have deleted everything and started
installing the Messenger all over. Any good ideas how I get rid of the
thing that Messenger seems to remember my g-mail adress?
The message I get is: Sign in failed because the password is incorrect
or the sign-in name does not exist. If you have forgotten your
password, choose Help Topics from the Help menu
The Password is correct I am sure because it´s the same I use for my G-
mail account ;=)
Thanx alot
Cordially Kurt ;=)
Entries in the Most Recently Used username list are stored in the Messenger
preferences file, which is located in /Users/<Your
User>/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/com.microsoft.Messenger.plist. The Most
Recently Used list for Windows Live (Personal) service is in entries
MSNSignInMRU01-05. You can delete the contents of each entry easily using
a program like Property List Editor. Otherwise, you can open the file using
a text editor and clear the data between the opening and closing <string>
tags under the appropriate key as mentioned above. Be sure Messenger is
closed when you attempt this!
If you have trouble editing the file, you may just want to try deleting it.
Then, when you relaunch Messenger, you should be prompted to enter your
login credentials.
