I have a "|" character (the character you get when u press SHIFT + \)
in my password. I have no problems signing in when using Windows Live
Messenger. However, when I try to sign-in on my Mac, it does not get
typed out. Therefore, I cannot log into my Messenger Mac because I
cannot get the correct password to log-in.
Initially, I thought there was something wrong with the keyboard
input. I have tried on other programs (Word, Excel, Entourage for Mac;
Safari; Mozilla Firefox; Mail) and the character can be typed out with
no error. To my horror, the character only does not get input when I
use Messeger for Mac.
So would anyone give a helping hand on this?

Thank you very much for the report. I was able to reproduce this and will
log a bug on this.
The current workaround would be to change your password to not use the |
(pipe) character.
Thanks,
Rebecca
