Why is it NOT possible to Webcam on Macbooks.. The built in camera is
kind of useless.. Fun for some things.. But all my family is
overseas.. id love to be able to WEBCAM with them..

Hi,

don't be unfair to Apple. The webcam works extremely well, and it can be
used with all kinds of chat applications, such as Skype and iChat. The only
problem (and that's Microsoft's problem, really) is that Messenger for Mac
does not support video chat. It may happen someday, but until then, if
you're really desperate to use your iSight in combination with Messenger,
you will have to download one of the following open-source Messenger clones:

<http://www.mercury.to/index.php?page=Mac>

Both aMSN and Mercury support MSN *and* webcam chats, so I suggest you give
them a try to see which one's better.

Do any of you know if Adium supports webcams? I have this programme so
I can use my MSN and Yahoo accounts but I don't know if I can use a
webcam with it.

Would be grateful for any help with this!

Does anyone know if I can use MSN on iChat and and easy to do method.

I am not very good with computers, actually quite bad so the easiest explanation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I used the program suggested I prefer aMSN on account of all the option despite its slowness.
Yet when I send my invite for people to see me on the video cam, they don't even get the request to except the offer for the web cam.

if your friends are on a PC, they can use msn messenger to talk to you
on aMsn.

if you both are on a mac, use iChat.

Its really about time Microsoft gives us a upgrade to the current messenger giving features like offline messaging and video chat compatibility using the iSight.
Matthew Gardiner - 30 Mar 2008 12:10 GMT
Hi,

Try using aMSN.

Matthew

MSN for Mac is perhaps the worst thing that MS has ever done in its tech life. Well there are thousands of things to say about the issue. On one side we have more or less richer applications in Office suite, on the other there is nothing to say. Words are not enough to talk about the issue. Is showing what we are listening to a major development? We need more. More more! We even cannot group our contacts.

Dear Microsoft

Why can't you pull your head out of your a.s, and support your customers instead finding another way to bleed money from people. The fact that you need a corporate account to use webcam in 7 is proof not only that you have the technology to do webcam, but that you don't care about those of us that are not bending-over backwards to give you cash. Are you all so ignorant that you think people will stick by you no matter what? Hell no, that's why we bought a mac is because we didn't want your crap in the first place.. the only thing MSN for mac has done is lose market share because they treat users like dirt... screw this, i'm going to iChat...
MacManX@officeformac.com - 05 May 2008 15:35 GMT
Lenny,

The answer to that can be found in another thread on this Forum. The personal side of Messenger:Mac 7 is waiting for Windows Live Messenger 9 to be finished.
