Problem Connecting to Server?

We are having problems mounting servers on our home network. Sometimes
they don't show up on the other machines, sometimes files won't
transfer.  The machines are all linked via ethernet.  Sometimes the
Timemachine volume won't show up on my machine unless I power cycle
the drive.  I don't recall having this problem with connection prior
to Leopard (that is, the general problem of mounting volumes).

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this flaky behavior or how
to get around it?

Hi Mark

Did you checked if this is a network problem? You can find some
network testing tool or just use
ping -c 1000 servername
and when it finish, check if there are dropped packages.

Also you can check for error messages in the Console and make sure
that you are applied all updates from apple.
