New SysPrefs "Processor" Panel/Open Base

Hello all,

I recently opened System Preferences on my MBP Core 2 Duo to find a
new panel called "Processor", which simply shows my processor info
(and for some reason seems to think I have a dual-core Pentium M).
Does anyone know where this panel came from? I never installed it, but
I did recently install Xcode Tools 2.2 off a Tiger install disc.
Would that have anything to do with it?

Also, I have a new folder in Applications called OpenBase with 3 files
in it.  Was this also installed by Xcode?

Any Info would be appreciated,
Inspiratron

here on a MBP Core2Duo 2.4GHz it shows the Processor as "Intel Core 2
Duo"

Why did you do that? It is an the install disks for your MBP...
You might find 2.4.1 on these disks...

Here only the file "OpenBaseManager" as Version 0.2.0 in that folder

No, Xtools was not on my install disc for my MBO, so I got it off of
my brother's 10.4.6 installation disc.

Yep -- that's exactly where it comes from.

During Xcode installation, you elected to install the optional "CHUD
Tools" package, which includes the panel in question.

OK, seeing as it's of no use to me, can I safely delete it without any
problems?

Thanks

Yep. You can just remove the system preferences panel.

I bet you still get the "CHUD has been updated" messages on restart, though.

I installed CHUD by mistake on a dev box here at work and on boot it
reminds me there are updates to CHUD available, and would I like to grab it?

I have no idea how to turn it off, but I haven't tried all that hard
since I reboot the box once every couple of months.
