Which are compatible with Leopard?

I haven't seen anyone report that any of the latest versions of all the
major ones (MT-Newswatcher, Hogwasher, Unison, MacSOUP, Thoth, to name a
few) aren't compatible.

MacSOUP and MTNewswatcher definitely work.

In fact I think the only apps I've found any problems with are a few
games, and of course the many system utilities.

I should have mentioned that I was posting with MacSOUP 2.8.2.  Since
MacSOUP defaults to displaying the User-Agent header, I sometimes forget
that not everyone knows at a glance which news client the poster is
using.  Meanwhile, though, the OP posted with MT-NW, so I would think
he'd know already that it's compatible.  Well, unless he isn't yet
running Leopard and asked in anticipation of upgrading.

I've never given this one any thought but it's a good topic to bring up.  I
was finally convinced in this ng to switch to Hogwasher when I was still
using Jaguar and then Tiger yet does it work on Leopard?

Good question as I want to upgrade yet I'm not sure if that would be an
upgrade switching to a newsreader I don't want to use.    And I doubt whether
Halime would be suitable as it didn't work all that well but still had the
best display/interface of them all...

One of the most promising I've seen to date is Nemo, but unfortunately
the developer doesn't seem responsive to many requests for fixes to the
graphical display (He's tried to model it on MacSOUP's display, but has
kind of missed the mark a bit). Otherwise it's very nearly got the best
bits of both MacSOUP and Hogwasher.

I offerred , in a PS to a bug report, to help him with some of that bit,
at least once the product got to a useable state. It doesn't seem to be
there yet. For example, it crashes whenever you try to actually do
anything with that MacSOUP-like display.

I don't think English is the author's first language, so I can overlook
those easily fixed infelicities for now.

I do like its appearance at first glance, but the bugs have kept me from
evaluating it in any depth.

From what I've seen of the developer's posts, he's another Brian Clark,
without the charm.

Erm, OK. I've given up on Nemo anyway for now. I didn't think his policy
of charging full shareware price for a product that was obviously still
under heavy development a good one.

No one has reported in the c.s.m. groups that Hogwasher is _not_
compatible with Leopard.

It's working perfectly for me.

Indeed, I spotted you using MacSOUP of course, but I don't think you get
to see that in MTNW (I don't use it that often). The OS is marked as
"PPC Mac OS X" in his OP, but ours shows "Mac OS X version 10.5.1
(PPC)", so I would say he's still on 10.4.

The news client provides the User-Agent info, and MT-NW doesn't specify
the OS version.  I just looked at one of Michelle Steiner's posts,
knowing she's running Leopard, and hers shows "MT-NewsWatcher/3.5.2
(Intel Mac OS X)".

That works, with a slight hiccup for some uesers; MTNW 3.5.2 may hang on
waiting for confirmation when posting to a newsgroup on some Leopard
installations. No idea yet why it does.

I have had that happen sporadically.

Mine says "User-Agent: MT-NewsWatcher/3.5.2 (Intel Mac OS X)"

The OP's says "User-Agent: MT-NewsWatcher/3.5.2 (PPC Mac OS X)"

Nowhere in either his or my headers, as viewed with MNTW, does it show
the the OS version number.

There have been a number of threads reporting problems posting with
MT-NW after upgrading to Leopard.  But it doesn't seem to be affecting
most users -- I suspect it depends on the news provider and MT-NW
settings.
