Any way to control balance based on a specific application?

I use Skype a lot, but having to go into System Preferences each time
to shift the balance to the right on my MacBook Pro is getting
annoying.  Is there any automatic way to control this, such as when the
mic is in use, the left speaker shuts off?

Thanks!

SoundSource might be what you want. It's not automatic, but easily
accessible from your menubar. It seems to maintain the settings for each
sound input and output. And it's free.
