You can do this, but the consensus is that performance is better if both memory channels are configured identically. So, your second 1GB module should match the first - and this might be more difficult to accomplish if you don't buy the two together. Not sure what characteristics are most important in "matching," though - maybe someone else can add to this... Jeff |
