Free stuff: PCMCIA Smart Card adapter

Thread rating: |
Ian McCall - 27 Aug 2008 14:56 GMT I have a Belkin Devices SmartMedia adapter, model DDSMFLS-AD.
Written on the card it says:
SmartMedia to ATA Type II PC Card Adapter DDSMFLS-AD
then in smaller letters
LPCAD0030
confusingly, on the back of the card it then says:
LPCA0043
I have no PCMCIA-capable hardware anymore and card readers on ebay are cheap, so this is for the bin unless someone wants to claim it. I'll wait a day or so to see if it's wanted, then throw it if not.
Cheers, Ian

Where was the origin of this personal meme that follows you around, btw? A slightly over-vehement objection in ASR some years back?

It started with the mere mention in passing of a leather coat, which was (deliberately?) misread as goat. The earliest mention I can find is December 2004, warning about Jim baring a leather goat, but that's obviously referring to a prior revelation.

It's starting to become a fairly old meme.

Andrew Stephenson - 28 Aug 2008 13:51 GMT > I remember it being just the phrase 'I'll get my goat' In BBC-tv's "Working Lunch" (which manages an impressive amount of laffs, considering it's about business and money) they enjoy a running gag: whenever someone uses the phrase, "gets your (ie the viewers') goat", they flash a piccy of a placid white goat. After a year or two somehow it's still funny.
Okay, I'll get my caprine.
