Free stuff: PCMCIA Smart Card adapter

I have a Belkin Devices SmartMedia adapter, model DDSMFLS-AD.

Written on the card it says:

SmartMedia to ATA
Type II PC Card Adapter
DDSMFLS-AD

then in smaller letters

LPCAD0030

confusingly, on the back of the card it then says:

LPCA0043

I have no PCMCIA-capable hardware anymore and card readers on ebay are
cheap, so this is for the bin unless someone wants to claim it. I'll
wait a day or so to see if it's wanted, then throw it if not.

Cheers,
Ian

Would it work in a PowerBook?

Things our resident MCSE didn't know how to do today:
Forward a port on a router. Even when being talked through it

Believe so - it's just a converter to a standard ATA device and they worked.

Well, if it's FOC and no-one else wants it, count me in :-)

Sold to the gentleman with the goat. Send a mail with your address and
I'll post it on.

Don't get jealous now.

Where was the origin of this personal meme that follows you around,
btw? A slightly over-vehement objection in ASR some years back?

I honestly can't remember if it started here, or in ASR, or what the
original cause was. Lost in the mists as they say.

It started with the mere mention in passing of a leather coat, which was
(deliberately?) misread as goat. The earliest mention I can find is
December 2004, warning about Jim baring a leather goat, but that's
obviously referring to a prior revelation.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it predates that. It's starting to become a fairly
old meme.

I remember it being just the phrase 'I'll get my goat'

No, I'm sure that came afterwards.

In BBC-tv's "Working Lunch" (which manages an impressive amount
of laffs, considering it's about business and money) they enjoy
a running gag: whenever someone uses the phrase, "gets your (ie
the viewers') goat", they flash a piccy of a placid white goat.
After a year or two somehow it's still funny.

Okay, I'll get my caprine.

Why does it keep rubbing its head on your leg?
