Do you mean the mylar tape - the transparent stuff?

There is no way, I don't think they sell it. You can probably get it
from RS. I still have some, but not entirely sure where you get it from.
Last time I got it it was from a place called 'stores'!

When I worked for Sellotape (note the upper case S they get very shirty
about that ) we sold speciality electrical tapes and an adhesive
aluminium foil tape.
I still have a stash in the garage, for personal use you understand, but
I guess it's all still available if you can find a stockist.

I've not googled for any cheaper sources though.

Thanks everyone - I should have enough options now to manage my family's
constant destruction of their laptops.

What's the laptop score on Roger's side (to be) of the family?

Believe me, my young friend (said the water rat, solemnly), there
is nothing - absolutely nothing - half as much worth doing as simply
messing about in boats. Simply messing about. Nothing seems really to
matter, that's the charm of it. Whether you get away or whether you
don't, whether you arrive at your destination or whether you reach
somewhere else, or whether you get anywhere at all, you're always
busy, and you never do anything in particular.

Pretty good actually. His mum has one and hasn't managed to bugger it
yet. There's always time.

mylar? wossat? Ooo - that looks like it could be the sticky foil. The
other stuff is opaque yellow and is all over the place inside laptops.

It looks like Maplins do the sticky foil tape. I'll just have to keep
hunting for the yellow.

I tend to use micropore surgical tape for that sort of stuff, works
perfectly.

Ahh - that is what I meant.
