Haven't you noticed that almost everyone talking about what you mistakenly refer to as `far right issues' (the BNP is a left-wing party like Hitler's National Socialist German Worker's Party) in this newsgroup has been taking the line that the BNP are worthless scum? FWIW, I'm as white as they come: the Indonesian lass (Asian) I mentioned previously is nothing like as good at maths as I am, and I really don't have the `feel' for the subject. The only person in my A level applied maths class who was told it wasn't a good idea to do S level was from a Bangladeshi family - also Asian (he worked very very hard to pass at all and had even less feel for maths than me - an impressive student, just not a natural mathematician). I've known lots of Chinese people who are lousy at maths; I've only ever met one Chinese engineer that I can think of (she's dead cute, so that's okay). I've known plenty of black people who can't rap to save their lives and have no sense of rhythm at all to speak of. The correlation between immigration and unemployment is not that clear. Unemployed British people don't seem too keen on taking the jobs filled by the new immigrants anyway, and that includes the black British unemployed. Being black or lower class is no excuse, the UK is a very tolerant place and although nothing comes easy it should in theory also be full of opportunity. Any problems that small local businesses may be facing have more to do with globalization/corporatization than it has to do with immigration. The whole unemployment/immigration/globalization/ national sovereignity/EU/NWO/democracy debate is valid, but nobody seems to have perfect solutions or even a clear overview. People are too busy talking crap about muslims or pedophiles. Racism is just based on primitive biological instincts of being cautious/suspicious/fearful of unknown or outside groups and protective towards "one's own". I don't even know what "nationalism" is personally, but this Roland McDonald fella can probably say something erudite about that when he's having a break from running his burger joint. Certain types of race/nationality-based thinking also have to do with low self-esteem, lack of ambition or people having too much time on their hands. Calling BNP supporters "scum" and choosing them as some sort of "bad guy" is a waste of time, maybe they think of themselves as "scum" anyway.
